Restored to its Original Glory An extensive renovation of the historic hotel was launched, beginning with an exterior restoration of stonework and windows. The hotel was closed for a complete renovation of all interior spaces. The Hotel Julien Dubuque had its grand reopening in September 2009, bringing new energy to the city's historic downtown district.
